Developing Drugs for the Global Market
Roche's scientific strategy can be distilled into this basic formula: The relentless pursuit of medically needed and therapeutically superior compounds to produce a continuous flow of advanced medicines. Therefore, once our scientists have identified a compound they believe is a good clinical candidate, the next step involves transitioning the drug to the Development group, which is responsible for determining if a drug is safe and effective and then shepherding the drug through the complex global regulatory process.

Today, roughly one third of the 30,000 diseases known to mankind are treated effectively. While progress has been made in recent years, the search for new treatments continues. Bringing safe and effective medicines to people who need them as well as innovative products, recognized as valuable to both physicians and patients, to the global marketplace quickly, is the mission of the Development organization.

Roche currently has a diverse pipeline of drugs in clinical trials. To learn more about our current clinical trials and results, click here.
