Recycling to Save Resources

Recycling is a way of life at Roche.

Roche began recycling cardboard more than three decades ago and the recycling programs have multiplied ever since. Today, the list of recyclables is far-reaching, ranging from paper, asphalt, electronics, batteries, wood to virtually every part of a fluorescent bulb to the concrete accumulated from demolished buildings. In 2008, we recycled some 453 tons of cardboard, 131 tons of paper, three tons of fluorescent lamps and 64 tons of landscaping debris.

We are taking an extra step with toner cartridges used in printers and fax machines, by selling the cartridges to companies that refurbish and reuse them. We donate the money generated to two local charities: Nutley Family Services in N.J. and St. Peter's Haven and Community Pantry in Clifton, N.J.
