Preparing for an Emergency
The adage "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" may be old, but it is true. We put safety at a premium and go beyond the minimums required in an emergency response plan.. We offer extensive training for all employees on procedures that will reduce the possibility of accidents as well as strengthen understanding and compliance with government regulations. We have a Certified Incident Commander on-site around the clock throughout the year, and we also sponsor two on-site emergency response teams consisting of employee volunteers.
Partnering with the Community
Training goes beyond the site itself and encompasses the surrounding communities of Nutley and Clifton. Our company emergency response teams work closely with emergency responders in the two areas. In fact, twice a year, the Roche teams conduct drills with Fire and Police Departments and other emergency responders from both communities. We also make our site available to federal, state and county response teams as well as several regional fire academies to conduct their own training programs.
Reverse 911
During any emergency, swift communication to members of the community is essential. For more than 15 years, we have been sponsoring a Reverse 911 system for Nutley and Clifton that allows town officials to send a recorded message directly to each resident’s telephone, alerting them to an emergency situation, saving precious time and protecting lives.
