Innovation in Patient Access

In the U.S., The Roche Foundation was established in 1947. In 1963, Roche became the first company in the pharmaceutical industry to introduce a formal Indigent Patient Program to provide the cancer drug fluorouracil free to people who couldn't afford it. The program was extended to Roche's full product line in 1967.

Our Corporate Principles

Contributing to Our Communities

In areas surrounding key Roche facilities, our citizenship efforts are guided by our desire to understand the needs of our extended communities.  As we become familiar with the social, educational, medical and other needs that contribute to a "healthy" community, it's our aim to become a trusted and valued partner in bringing our capabilities to bear in addressing those needs. Our philanthropic activities may take the form of financial support, in-kind giving, intellectual expertise or volunteerism.
