As a Product Director in
Marketing, Sarah Vidal is helping educate people about Roche
products and the importance of being tested for life-threatening
diseases, like hepatitis C. "I have an incredible opportunity to
impact patients' lives," she says. "There are so many unmet
medical needs, and a critical part of my job is to bring Roche
professionals together with the communities to get people
screened and treated."
In 2000, after receiving a degree in Public Health and with
experience in healthcare research and consulting, Sarah Vidal
joined Roche as a Market Analyst. After 18 months, she was
made a Manager in Market Analytics, leading the market
research team for a new Roche medicine for treating
hepatitis C. After two years, and recognizing that field
experience would be vital to her future pharmaceutical career,
Sarah became a Specialty Care Sales representative for
hepatology, with her territory in northwestern New Jersey. "Roche
has always provided me with opportunities to take on new
challenges and responsibilities, even if they take me out of my
comfort zone," Sarah explains. After 16 months in the field,
she moved into her current position.
According to Sarah, Roche takes a long-term approach with
everything, whether it is making business decisions or
promoting career growth. Sarah's advice for a successful career
at the company: "Before looking at other jobs, look for
opportunities to grow within your present position. And when
you consider other positions, take a chance and step out of
your comfort zone."
