Prior to joining Roche as a
Neurology Specialist on the company's Field Sales team in 1997,
James Brooks had several years of sales and account management
experience. Part of that experience was as a Neurology Sales
Representative with Syntex, a company acquired by Roche in 1994.
In his nine years at Roche, James became an HIV Division Manager
and a Hepatology Division Manager, prior to assuming his present
position as the Hepatology Regional Sales Director for Roche's
Southern Region, based in Houston, Texas. He credits the company
for its support of his career as well as its corporate culture.
"Roche promotes teamwork, provides excellent training, and has a
high level of professionalism and ethics," James explains.
When it comes to giving career advice, James advocates several
old fashioned values. "To move ahead, you need to work hard
and work smart. And take a personal interest in your own self
development," he says. James also recommends taking some
risks with your career. "Don't be afraid to take a chance
and stretch yourself," he adds.
