Corporate Funding Guidelines
Roche focuses its grant making on specific programs within our
giving priorities that identify solutions to important issues in a community,
and that can benefit from our expertise.
Funding consideration is directed to charitable organizations based in the
United States where Roche has a significant presence or interest and
whose beneficiaries reside in the United States.
The same charitable giving guidelines apply to funding requests submitted to
either the corporate charitable contributions program or The Roche Foundation.
Proposals for funding will be directed to the appropriate entity for review and
should be submitted only once.
If after reviewing the giving priorities and guidelines, you believe your
proposal meets our criteria for funding consideration, please see the
instructions on How to Apply, where you will be asked to submit your request
electronically through www.rochegrants.com.
Our Giving Priorities are:
Health/Social/Humanitarian
Consistent with the company's mission of creating added value in healthcare, we
focus our grant-making on specific community outreach programs that address the
prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases that can enhance well-being and
the quality of life. We consider funding requests for innovative
community-focused initiatives within our therapeutic areas of expertise:
Virology, Oncology, Inflammation, Central Nervous System (CNS), Metabolic
Diseases
Science Education and Student Success
Programs focused on science education and student success through student
enrichment and secondary teacher training programs emphasizing science. As one
of the world's leading research-oriented healthcare groups with core businesses
in pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, a portion of Roche's charitable support is
focused on science education and student success. Through support of programs
emphasizing science, Roche invests in the future of its community and the
development of leadership.
Environment
From Roche Sales Representatives using hybrid cars to the company's recycling
program to cleaning up our rivers, and routinely sampling the workplace for
such factors as noise levels, heat and chemical exposure, at Roche, protecting
people and the environment is a key concern in everything we do. Roche
pre-identifies
and initiates funding for environmental programs and therefore
does not accept unsolicited grant requests.
Culture
Roche believes that contemporary culture enriches our daily lives and that
there are close parallels between innovation in the arts and innovation in
research. To that end, we have aligned ourselves with selected arts and
cultural institutions that are consistent with those beliefs. Roche directs its support to pre-identified initiatives and organizations and therefore
does not accept unsolicited grant requests.
