Margaret Greene, Florida
A whole new world has opened up for me now.

In 1983, while undergoing a hysterectomy, Margaret Greene contracted hepatitis C from a blood transfusion. However, the disease wasn’t diagnosed until several years later. Though the news came as a shock, Margaret didn’t allow this to dampen her spirits, or her life. "I’ve always been a survivor," she says.

Today, helped by a Roche medicine, as Margaret walks the Miami beach and holds her grandchildren close, the sun feels warmer, the water, more soothing. Though she’s always had a positive outlook, Margaret says she feels like she has more energy and life. "A whole new world has opened up for me now that I’ve completed therapy." What’s more, she has decided to do something that she’s always wanted — write a novel.

"I’ve taken early retirement," Margaret declares. "I’m spending more time with my growing family and I hope to become a murder-mystery novelist." Her first story centers on a patient with hepatitis C living in Florida. Knowing Margaret and her positive attitude, the novel’s sure to have a compelling and happy ending.

Asthma, cancer, diabetes, hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, influenza, nervous system disorders and osteoporosis - just some of the real life issues Roche is focusing on, and providing solutions for.
